Big difference: two milimetres Dos milimetros, una gran diferencia

We went to Malleo river into Painefilu indian comunity and we started to fish 1200 metres down the entrance. Stephane and Luc were fishing looking for the trouts behind the trees. With Luc we choose a big willow where we saw a lot of trout eating on the surface. Luc were fishing with CDC emergent but the trouts didn´t like it. We walk close the tree and I coud see trouts which were eating green worm (they fell from the tree) so we change to a willow worm. I used to tie it in three differet way but the trouts didn´t like none of them. I thought the flies which I tied might be long so I cut a little peace from one of them and gave it to Luc. He changed the fly and at his first cast caught a very nice rainbow.

















I gave same flies to Stephane meanwhile Luc caught a big brown. Its gave Luc a long and big fight before I took a photograph and then Luc realese it to the water.

















I thought I cut from the fly only two milimetres, but it was a big difference.
Are trouts selectives? Time to time...




















Nos fuimos con Stephane y Luc a las 9 hs hacia el Malleo dentro de la comunidad Painefilu. Y como el lugar que suelo empezar a pescar estaba ocupado nos fuimos al segundo lugar a unos 1200 metros de la tranquera de entrada de la comunidad. Se desplegaron por las dos márgenes y con Luc nos fuimos pescar detrás de un árbol que desde la altura de la barranca vimos que tenía muchos pescados.
Cuando nos ubicamos para lanzar observamos que había mucha actividad de truchas comiendo arriba, inclusive divisé una subida de una marrón y le avisé a Luc. Pero no podíamos encontrar que nos picaran. Tuvo un par de piques pero no certeros y yo me inclinaba por probar con los gusanitos del sauce: había mucho viento, las truchas comían a una velocidad increíble, y empecé, a medida que nos acercamos al árbol, a divisar como caían gusanos y se los devoraban las truchas. Asi que probamos con los tres tipos distintos de atados que tengo para los gusanos. Asi y todo nada, no había caso, no nos tomaban. pensé en probar cortando un poco los gusanos que tenía atados y luego de la peluquería en el primer cast Luc puede clavar una hermosa arco iris.













Asi se le fueron dando piques y erradas y fue cuando siempre detrás del mísmo árbol logra clavar esta hermosa marrón que está en la foto, felicitaciones Luc!!
Dos milímetros deben haber sido lo que le saqué a los gusanos, pero parece que fue una gran diferencia, Selectivas? pareciera que si, no?
