Two days fishing at Chimehuin river. dos días por la curva del manzano

March 13 is my birthday so I gave a fishing day myself and I went to Chimehuin river at Curva del Manzano (20 minutes from San Martín de los Andes). I used my #5 redington, with floating line and 5x tippet of 4,5 meters. The day was very windy so the cast were difficult.
I was fishing through 1000 meter down the river, and I walked this distance two times.
First time I used a #16 CDC emergent and caught some rainbow, very figther and the second time I walked the same distance and I used a #10 cooper jon nymphs (you can see how tie it at another post in this blog: http://3xflyfishing.blogspot.com/2009/02/la-hipper-copper-john.html). I was casting under the willows over the bank of the river and I caught a very big brown (around 2,5 kilos). Its carry slowly my line up the river and then its run quickly down river with all my line! So I had to run behind its. I took my time because I felt it was my gift.s birthday, so I brought it when lts let me did it and then I let it run down the river. I did this for 15 minutes and when I mover it closer unhooked! I was cursing another 15 minutes!!!
Later I caught a 1 kilo brouwn and some rainbow. I had a very nice fishing day!

March 15. I went again to Chimehuin river with my close friend Daniel, "Black" Miglioli. Both with #5 rod, floating lineas and cooper john and CDC dry and emergent.












We caught around 30 trout between 400 to 600 gr. but we caught some around 1 kilo too. We had a funny time because all the time we caught a fish. And the current of the river were quiclky so the fight of the fish are hard too.I caught a nice brown with a #14 CDC dry fly.


































El 13 de marzo fue mi cumple asi que me regalé un día de pesca y el lugar elegido fue la curva del manzano, más precisamente aguas arriba.
Con muchísimo viento pesqué a lo largo de unos 1000 metros en los cuales hice dos pasadas, la primera con secas y emergentes de CDC y la segunda con ninfa, una copper john en anzuelo 10.
En la primera pasada clavé algunas arco iris y un par de ellas de alrededor del kilo, muy lindas y peleadoras y en la segunda pasada clavé una muy pero muy buena marrón que luego de pasearme por el río abajo y arriba se me desprendió. Pero luego volví a sacar otra de 1kilo que algo me compensó. Es muy interesante clavar peces buenos aqui ya que como hay correntada pareja se hace difícil y pesada la lucha y esta lleno de pescados. Armé un tippet terminado en 5x de 4, 5 metros que fue bueno en el momento que estaba en el agua pero difícil al momento de lanzar por todo el viento que había.

Con lo cual el día 15 me fui de nuevo al río con mi amigo el negro Miglioli, pescamos desde las 10 a las 18 y debemos haber clavado alrededor de 30 truchas entre los dos, la mayoría de alrededor de 300-600 gramos pero varias muy lindas.
































Empezamos con las copper john y luego también con emergentes y secas de CDC.
Estuvo muy divertido porque todo el tiempo estábamos clavando alguna trucha y las de las fotos fueron las más grandecitas y muy combativas, nos llevaron un buen rato poder sacarlas, por la fuerza, la correntada y porque estábamos con tippet 5x.
